Job summary

Mannik Smith Group in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Structural Engineer to join the Transportation team. The role focuses on design of transportation structures, including bridges, culverts and retaining walls, with concrete, steel and timber elements.

You will support senior staff in design, drafting, and review while coordinating with other disciplines. This full-time position offers a hybrid work schedule, competitive compensation, and benefits.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• 5+ years of experience in structural design.
• Experience designing transportation structures including bridges, culverts, and walls.
• DOT project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design of transportation-related structures including bridges, culverts, and retaining walls with reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, steel, and timber elements
• Assist senior design staff in structural design, drafting & review
• Collaborate with structures group, other disciplines, and sometimes clients to complete projects
• Ensure designs comply with applicable local, state, and federal guidelines and codes
• Develop engineers cost estimates
• Guide junior staff by providing direction and constructive feedback
