UTEC seeks a detail-oriented Staff Accountant I to support day-to-day finance operations in a part-time, hybrid role in Lowell, MA. This entry-level position handles AP, cash receipts, journal entries, and general ledger support.

You will work under the Controller, maintain documentation, and assist with month-end close. Strong Excel skills and attention to detail are essential; nonprofit accounting experience is a plus. This role offers growth in a mission-driven organization.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, or related financial functions is helpful but not required.
• Familiarity with nonprofit accounting and Sage Intacct is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Process accounts payable invoices daily with proper documentation and accurate coding.
• Record cash receipts and support invoicing and revenue activities.
• Prepare standard journal entries and assist with month-end close.
• Maintain general accounting records and supporting schedules.
• Use Sage Intacct and Excel, following internal controls and procedures.
