Job summary

Viking is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support key accounting and financial reporting activities. This role handles general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close, partnering with cross-functional teams to analyze transactions and strengthen internal controls.

The position is hybrid and based in Woodland Hills, CA, with in-office Mondays and Thursdays plus one additional weekday.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar field.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP and IFSUM formulas).
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to think independently and exercise judgement.
• Motivated self-starter with problem solving.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Willingness to adapt to changes in accounting standards and policies.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepaid Expenses: review prepaid accounts and amortization entries.
• Cash: review daily cash transactions and prepare transfers and journal entries.
• Customer deposits: review GL and reclass entries for revenue reconciliations.
• Payables: maintain payable aging for refunds.
• Expense accruals: prepare monthly accruals and journal entries.
• Intercompany items & transfer pricing: run reports and record entries across entities.
• Assist in preparing monthly journal entries.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliation schedules.
• Prepare audit support documents and schedules.
• Prepare monthly and ad hoc reports for management.
• Maintain and improve internal controls.
