Job summary

Arizona Public Service Company seeks a Manager of Transmission Project Delivery to lead the Strategic Transmission portfolio and a team of project managers overseeing contracted Owners Agent and EPC firms during development and construction. This role supports long-term reliability, growth, resource integration and grid resilience.

Ideal candidates bring extensive project management experience, PMP certification, and experience overseeing multi-discipline teams within the utility sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, finance, business or related field plus 8 years of directly related experience in construction and/or project management.
• In lieu of a bachelor's degree, combination of college coursework and/or experience in construction and/or project management totaling 12 years.
• Three years of supervisory/management experience.

Responsibilities

• Manages the Strategic Transmission project portfolio and associated project controls to achieve approved scope, schedule, budget, quality, financial performance and risk objectives.
• Directs and leads project and program execution activities to ensure compliance with applicable specifications, standards and codes; establishes governance, processes and controls for safe, timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Builds and develops a high performing team through staffing, coaching, performance management and development.
• Directs development and administration of contracts, including bid proposals; ensures compliance with terms and safety programs.
• Prepares and oversees departmental operating budget; monitors expenditures and addresses variances; manages project risks with Finance.
• Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support portfolio objectives.
• Represents APS on programmatic matters with public affairs and regulatory on legislation or initiatives; supports responses and testimony as needed.
• Conducts post-implementation reviews to evaluate performance and drive continuous improvement.
