Job summary

Arizona Public Service Company is seeking an experienced Transmission Operations Engineer III/Senior to deliver safe, reliable engineering solutions for APS’s grid. The role applies technical expertise to complex problems, guides key decisions, and supports long‑term system performance.

You will analyze transmission conditions, generate real-time reports, and collaborate with operators and engineers to improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Requires engineering methods and analysis in a transmission or power system operations environment.
Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable insights.
Experience with real-time operations, reporting, or system monitoring preferred.

Responsibilities

Analyze transmission system conditions using power flow, contingency, and operational studies for real-time and future grid reliability.
Develop and deliver real-time operational reports and data insights for 24/7 Energy Control Center.
Perform data analysis to identify trends, constraints, and risks affecting transmission operations.
Support implementation of flowgate methodology for transmission services.
Collaborate with operators and engineers to troubleshoot issues and improve performance.
Provide technical guidance and participate in on-call rotation to support system operations.
