Job summary

APS is seeking an experienced Transmission Overhead Senior Engineer to lead the design of complex transmission projects across medium- and high-voltage systems in Arizona. You will apply NESC requirements and industry standards to deliver safe, reliable energy solutions while supporting capital and maintenance initiatives.

The role requires strong project leadership, coding and design familiarity with PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, PLS-TOWER, AutoCAD or MicroStation, and advanced knowledge of structural

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in engineering or related applied science.
• Eight (8) years engineering experience in related positions.
• Engineering degree with Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Structural emphasis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering plans, designs, analyses, specifications, cost estimates, evaluations, studies and verifications.
• Interface with customers and departments to align objectives with requirements, budget and schedule.
• Improve department performance and productivity through analysis and recommendations.
• Oversee engineering programs, coordinate with partners, and drive corrective actions.
• Lead small- to medium-scale projects from planning to coordination and scheduling.
• Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
• Contribute to long-range strategies for site problems.
• Suggest design modifications to improve efficiency and comply with standards.
