Job summary

Orbital is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in a HYBRID role to join our growing team in Hammond, IN. This position provides technical leadership for industrial electrical projects across steel, power, refining, and manufacturing markets, delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective engineering solutions.

You will lead design from concept through commissioning, perform load flow, short-circuit, and arc flash analyses, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with mechanical, civil, and process

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• PE license required.
• 20+ years electrical engineering consulting experience.
• Strong knowledge of MV/LV power systems and substations.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering and design for capital and maintenance projects from concept through commissioning.
• Develop and review deliverables: single-line diagrams, power distribution, layouts, and specs.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with multi-discipline teams.
• Support client meetings, site walkdowns, startup activities, and commissioning.
