Orbital Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in a hybrid Hammond, IN role. You will lead electrical engineering projects for heavy industries, guide design from concept to commissioning, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients.

Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
20+ years of electrical engineering experience in consulting environments.
Experience with medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems, substations, switchgear, protective relaying, and motor control centers.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical engineering and design for capital and maintenance projects from concept through commissioning.
Develop and review electrical deliverables including cable schedules, conduit routing, grounding and protection systems.
Perform and review analyses such as load flow, arc flash, and motor starting.
Develop data sheets, RFQs, and vendor evaluations; provide client-facing leadership and mentoring.
Coordinate multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, structural, civil, process, instrumentation) and support proposal efforts.
Serve as technical advisor to clients and ensure compliance with codes and quality procedures.
