Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Principal Engineer for Cybersecurity R&D in the Junos Cybersecurity group. This hybrid role requires about two days weekly in an HPE office, with leadership across security features, cryptography, and SDL practices for routers and switches running Junos OS.

You will mentor a team, engage with executives and engineers, and help advance global product security through certifications and vulnerability management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Typically 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity or security engineering.
• Strong coding skills in C and Python; Rust a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of product security features and SDL practices.
• Support certifications such as FIPS 140, Common Criteria, EU CRA.
• Drive threat modelling, static/dynamic analysis, and vulnerability management.
• Mentor staff and influence senior stakeholders to improve security posture.
• Collaborate with executives and engineering teams on security roadmap.
