Job summary

Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, OH seeks a Senior Benefits Specialist to lead administration of employee benefit programs and retirement plans within the Office of Human Resources. You will guide enrollment, vendor relationships, and compliance in a collaborative academic environment.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, retirement, and wellness initiatives, with a starting salary in the $62k–$68k range and a hybrid work arrangement after six months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of general HR or related experience with emphasis on benefits and data management activities.
• Knowledge of employee data management to ensure federal and state regulatory compliance specific to benefits (i.e. COBRA, HIPAA, ADA).
• Proven experience with utilization of proprietary data management/HRIS systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Benefits Administration: Administer all benefit plans and programs and manage enrollments and terminations.
• Open Enrollment: Plan and administer annual open enrollment and new-hire benefits orientation.
• Benefits Partnership: Work with providers/vendors to improve programs and handle billing.
• Data Management: Coordinate data management with IT and Accounting for accuracy.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulations related to employee benefits.
• Miscellaneous Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
