Job summary

Withum is seeking a Senior Auditor to base out of our Houston, TX office. You will lead audit engagements from planning through completion, mentoring staff and coordinating with clients to ensure top-tier service.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting, CPA (or working toward it), and 2+ years of public accounting experience with a strong grasp of US GAAP and client relationship skills. Travel is required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.
• Licensed CPA, or working towards CPA certification.
• At least 2 years of public accounting experience, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.
• Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including familiarity with US GAAP.
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engagement team on planning and execution of audits, reviews or compilations to provide high-quality client service.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the audit engagement, including staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork and financial reporting.
• Provide supervision and mentorship to staff and coordinate with engagement managers and partners.
• Collaborate with managers and partners on client issue resolutions and regulatory matters encountered during audits.
• Review general ledger accounts for accurate entries and manage multiple engagements to meet deadlines.
• Assist in budgeting and performance evaluations within the engagement team.
