Job summary

Withum is seeking a Senior Auditor based in the Houston, TX office to lead all aspects of audit engagements, from planning to completion, and to mentor staff. You will collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality financial statements and assurance services.

Ideal candidates have CPA status (or pursuing it) and at least two years of public accounting experience, with strong US GAAP knowledge, client service, and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• Licensed CPA, or working towards CPA certification.
• At least 2 years of public accounting experience with leading engagements.
• Strong auditing, analytical, and technical skills with US GAAP familiarity.
• Excellent client service and communication; ability to manage competing projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engagement team staff on planning and execution of audit, review or compilation engagements to provide world-class client service.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the audit engagement, including staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, and financial reporting.
• Provide supervision and support to staff and maintain open communication with management and partner.
• Collaborate with managers and partners on issue resolutions and advise on regulatory and accounting issues.
• Review general ledger accounts for accurate entries and manage multiple engagements concurrently to meet deadlines.
• Create and track engagement budgets and review for inefficiencies.
• Provide coaching and conduct evaluations; participate in professional development programs as instructor or discussion leader.
• Travel as needed.
