Job summary

Encova Insurance in Wisconsin is seeking an experienced Production Underwriter to manage assigned agencies for commercial lines, write profitable new business, and renewals. The role emphasizes building strong agency relationships, pricing risk appropriately, and driving growth with profitability.

The position includes travel to agencies within the territory, with a company vehicle provided. A senior level may be considered depending on qualifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressive commercial lines underwriting experience in package lines and/or worker’s compensation.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, demonstrated significant underwriting experience may substitute.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of commercial multi-line underwriting, pricing and coverage.
• Demonstrated knowledge of effective sales/marketing and agency relationship techniques including the ability to partner with independent insurance agents.
• Preference may be shown for CPCU and/or ARM designations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain agency relationships through regular visits with agency leadership and production staff, encompassing growth and profitability with Encova.
• Coordinate agency training and assist agencies with tools for profitable growth across all profit centers.
• Gather competitive intelligence and stay abreast of insurance laws and regulations.
• Prospect and qualify new agents for potential appointments and prepare proposals to producers.
• Manage renewals and new business discussions with agents; coordinate service delivery within the team.
