Job summary

Encova Insurance seeks a Production Underwriter, Workers' Compensation for large accounts. This remote role travels Illinois to visit agencies and develop new and existing relationships, with a car provided.

You will assess risks, price accordingly, and write profitable new and renewal business, reporting to a Director of Commercial Lines Large Account Underwriting. A strong background in commercial lines underwriting and agency relations is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressive commercial lines underwriting experience in package or worker's compensation preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or demonstrated underwriting experience may substitute.
• CPCU/ARM designations preferred.
• Strong writing and marketing skills.

Responsibilities

• Represent Encova Insurance to assigned agencies and cultivate agency relationships.
• Determine acceptability, pricing and profitability for new and renewal business.
• Prepare proposals and negotiate terms with producers.
• Ensure proper issuance of policies, certificates and filings.
• Manage accounts including renewals, new business presentations and agency discussions.
