Job summary

Encova Insurance is seeking a Production Underwriter for Workers' Compensation, remote with territory travel to Illinois. The role focuses on accounts over $75k in premium, with a company vehicle provided, and a strong emphasis on agency relationships and profitable growth.

The position reports to a Regional VP, Commercial Lines. Applicants should have deep commercial lines underwriting experience, a customer-service mindset, and the ability to lead sales discussions with agents.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressive commercial lines underwriting experience in package lines and/or workers' compensation in the Property and Casualty market strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, demonstrated significant underwriting experience may substitute.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of commercial multi-line underwriting, pricing and coverage.

Responsibilities

• Represent Encova Insurance and function as the agency manager for assigned agents with a primary focus on commercial lines.
• Develop and maintain agency relationships through regular visits with agency leadership and production staff.
• Coordinate agency training and assist agencies with tools for profitable growth across all profit centers.
• Determine acceptability, pricing, profitability and opportunities for new and renewal business.
• Manage existing and prospective accounts by actively participating in renewals and new business discussions with agents.
