Job summary

Encova Insurance is seeking a Production Underwriter, Package Lines, based in Wisconsin. The role focuses on commercial lines, including workers’ compensation and package lines, with travel to agencies within the Madison and Milwaukee areas. You will drive growth and profitability through risk analysis, pricing, and effective agency partnerships.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of underwriting experience in commercial lines, with strong communication and sales skills. A CPCU/ARM is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive commercial lines underwriting experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; significant underwriting experience may substitute.
• Proven knowledge of commercial multi-line underwriting, pricing and coverage.
• Strong sales/marketing and agency relationship techniques.
• CPCU/ARM designation is a plus.
• Excellent written communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Represent Encova as agency manager for assigned agents focusing on commercial lines.
• Achieve premium growth and profitability objectives; review risks and determine acceptability.
• Write profitable new business and retain renewal accounts.
• Coordinate agency training and provide tools for growth; maintain agency relationships.
• Prepare proposals and negotiate terms & conditions.
• Attend industry events and manage communications with agencies.
