Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Payment and Reconciliation Specialist I to support accurate posting and reconciliation of patient and insurance payments. Responsibilities include handling EFTs, ERAs, and deposits, with focus on timely cash posting and GL balancing.

The role requires basic PC skills, proficiency in Excel/Word, and at least one year of medical cash posting experience. On-site with potential remote/hybrid options after 6 months, based on performance and manager

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Entry level position with proficient PC skills.
• Strong organizational skills and detail orientation.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• One year of medical cash posting or line item posting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and imports all electronic remittances from each contracted third party payer website.
• Retrieves and uploads patient and insurance payment files from multiple lock boxes.
• Analyzes and processes all payments, adjustments, rejections and deductibles not posted electronically.
• Identifies, prepares and posts all payments to accounts receivable; ensures accurate posting of non-patient cash payments.
• Applies payments, balances cash receipts, verifies and reconciles each payment batch.
• Utilizes electronic credit card systems to post and balance all credit card transactions to AR.
• Posts all non-payment EOBs and enters accurate rejection codes for correct AR flow.
• Researches and resolves any unapplied/unidentified payments timely.
• Ensures all monies are accounted for using GL codes and facility account assignments.
• Posts wire transfers and manual deposits, including checks.
