News-Press & Gazette Company (NPG) is seeking a self-motivated Infrastructure Engineer based at our St. Joseph, MO corporate office with hybrid-remote options to support NPG employees.

The role focuses on maintaining hardware, network infrastructure, AD, DNS/DHCP services, and email environments, while leading IT projects and collaborating across teams. The ideal candidate has 2+ years with Active Directory, strong networking knowledge, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Missouri driver’s license with acceptable MVR or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to participate in a shared 24x7 on-call rotation.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• 2+ years of experience working with Active Directory.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and replace failed hardware; install and troubleshoot software.
• Purchase and deploy infrastructure hardware; manage hardware inventory.
• Manage Domain Controllers, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP services.
• Administer company email environment.
• Lead and manage IT projects.
• Collaborate with team on IT projects.
• Develop and maintain documentation for IT processes and procedures.
• Ensure network security and compliance with company policies.
• Manage networks, including telecom, internet, switches, and routers.
• Manage datacenters, including SANs and physical servers.
• Administer Windows and Linux servers.
• Administer VMware vSphere.
• Design and implement infrastructure components such as networks, applications, and virtual environments.
• Work with broadcast engineers, system personnel, and third-party vendors.
