Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) seeks a Regional Training Specialist to train field staff on assessing eligibility and authorizing services for the new Health Related Social Needs (HRSN) pilot. Hybrid telework is available anywhere in Washington, with a duty station tied to the home address.

The role focuses on educating staff, coordinating with HCA, and evaluating cost-savings while enabling Apple Health clients to access appropriate services through qualified

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in social work, a health or social science, public administration or a related field and 5 years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs.
• Or a master’s degree in the same fields and 4 years of professional experience in the same areas.
• Or one year of experience as a SHPC 3 or equivalent.
• Or two years as SHPC 2 or equivalent.
• Note: A degree in Social Work must be CSWE-accredited.

Responsabilités

• Provides training and education for staff who provide front door services for Home and Community Living Intake.
• Instruct staff on interviewing clients and Authorized Representatives for Medicaid funded services.
• Serve as liaison between field staff and headquarters to evaluate HRSN program effectiveness and cost-savings.
• Train staff to develop individualized service plans with clients to authorize appropriate in-home LTC services.
• Train staff to conduct intake interviews and risk assessments by phone or in person for walk-ins.
• Assess eligibility factors and explain criteria for Home and Community Services in various settings.
• Conduct preliminary safety screening for CARE assessments when a home visit is needed.
• Refer clients to Public Benefits Specialist staff for complex financial eligibility questions.

Formation

Bachelor’s degree in social work, health or social science, public administration or related field

Master’s degree in social work, health or social science, public administration or related field

One year of experience as Social and Health Program Consultant 3 or equivalent

Two years of experience as Social and Health Program Consultant 2 or equivalent

Degree in Social Work from CSWE-accredited program
