Job summary

Washington State Department of Social and Health Services seeks a Regional Training Specialist to train field staff on eligibility and authorization for HRSN services under the new pilot program. The role supports Apple Health clients via in-home and community settings with a focus on care planning and risk assessment.

Qualifications include a CSWE-accredited degree (BSW/MSW) and several years of related clinical and training experience.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in social work, health, or related field; and 5 years of professional experience.
• Or a master’s degree in social work, health, or related field; and 4 years of professional experience.
• Or one year of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 3 or two years as SHPC 2.
• Note: A degree in Social Work must be from a CSWE-accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Provides training and education for staff on intake and eligibility for Medicaid services.
• Instruct staff on client interviewing and interviewing relatives or authorized representatives.
• Serve as liaison between field staff and HQ to evaluate HRSN service effectiveness and cost-savings.
• Train staff to develop individualized service plans with clients to authorize services.
• Train staff to conduct intake interviews and risk assessments by phone or in person.
• Assess eligibility factors and explain criteria for Home and Community Services.
