Job summary

The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) HCLA is hiring two Social Service Specialist 3 trainees in Spokane, WA. This one-year, in-person training runs 8am–5pm, Monday to Friday, at Rock Point. You will assess eligibility for Medicaid-related programs and develop individualized service plans for clients in residential facilities.

Role emphasizes client advocacy, coordinated care, and case management, with weekly travel and ongoing professional growth within Region 1.

Qualifications

• Understanding of Medicaid and/or medical terminology, policy implementation.
• Completion of comprehensive assessments and development of individualized service plans.
• Ability to work in home environments with a diverse caseload.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person functional assessment interviews in clients' residential facilities.
• Determine eligibility for Medicaid-related programs and others.
• Develop ongoing, individualized service plans with clients and representatives.
• Coordinate client needs with families, facilities, and community resources.
• Provide case management to high-risk adults and document contacts.
