Job summary

Ledcor Construction, Inc. is seeking a Project Accountant to ensure accurate and timely financial data entry and reporting across project portfolios.

You will manage accounts receivable, subcontractor payments, payroll processing, equipment time tracking, and month-end close activities while partnering with management and project teams to guarantee data accuracy and timeliness. This hybrid role in Chicago combines in-office and remote work flexibility, offering opportunities to learn and grow

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in operational cost accounting.
• Experience in commercial construction, Telecom or related industry preferred.
• Knowledge of JD Edwards or similar ERP preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction accounting principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Establish and manage project cost control systems.
• Interpret contractual and commercial terms for projects.
• Deliver accurate cost reporting and insights to leadership.
• Support development and execution of collective agreements.
• Coordinate invoicing, including declarations and certificates.
• Prepare LEM reports, progress billings, invoices, and holdback releases.
• Validate third‑party invoices and reconcile with client systems.
• Monitor equipment usage, subcontractors, and ensure contractual compliance.
• Assist project managers with change orders, payroll coordination, and month‑end journal entries.
