Job summary

Superhuman seeks a Privacy Counsel to join the Privacy Legal Team in a hybrid model with in-person collaboration in NYC or the San Francisco Bay Area. You will partner across product, engineering, security, and the legal team to advance privacy by design and advise on global privacy laws.

You will support privacy reviews, risk-based guidance for GDPR/CCPA/COPPA/HIPAA, and cross-functional initiatives, including privacy training and regulatory readiness.

Qualifications

• JD and membership in good standing with at least one US state bar.
• 5+ years of relevant privacy counseling experience in tech.
• Deep knowledge of global privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
• Ability to translate complex issues into actionable guidance.
• Experience partnering with legal, product, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Be the privacy partner for legal, product, engineering, marketing, and security teams.
• Advise on data privacy, security, and compliance across product lifecycles.
• Provide risk-calibrated privacy guidance for global laws (GDPR, CCPA, COPPA, HIPAA).
• Support privacy M&A diligence and integration end-to-end.
• Drive privacy compliance work including AI-related data types.
• Develop and scale privacy reviews, guidance, and playbooks.
• Conduct privacy impact reviews and maintain documentation.
• Design and deliver privacy training for internal teams.
• Support regulatory readiness focusing on US/EU frameworks.
• Monitor industry developments in privacy for SaaS and cloud.
