Job summary

Lex Key Partners is seeking a privacy and cybersecurity lawyer for its Silicon Valley office. This counseling-heavy role puts you close to product and business decisions as founders, GCs, and engineering leads navigate launches, fundraising, and deals.

You will guide clients through privacy regimes, advise on AI governance, negotiate SaaS and cloud terms, and lead privacy due diligence for financings and acquisitions. Hybrid schedule with strong compensation and full benefits.

Qualifications

Substantial privacy, cybersecurity, or tech transactions experience (senior associate or counsel level).
Strong command of California privacy law and the evolving AI regulatory landscape.
Track record advising technology companies, ideally startups, SaaS, AI, or platform businesses.
Excellent drafting, negotiating, and client-facing judgment.

Responsibilities

Guiding tech clients through state, federal, and global privacy requirements.
Advising on AI governance, models, and regulatory expectations.
Negotiating data privacy and security terms in SaaS, cloud, licensing, and vendor deals.
Running privacy and security due diligence on financings and acquisitions.
Helping clients build privacy programs as they scale.
Preparing clients for security incidents and regulator inquiries/ investigations.
Drafting privacy policies, DPAs, consent flows, and internal governance documents.
Working with corporate, transactional, and litigation teams on shared clients.
