Job summary

HackerOne seeks a Privacy Counsel to support global data protection, AI governance, and commercial contracting across the business. Remote location options include the UK or USA, with collaboration across Product, Security, Compliance, and Sales to provide practical privacy guidance.

This role focuses on cross‑functional privacy assessments, DPAs, and privacy-by-design reviews to enable rapid yet responsible product development and commercial activity.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with GDPR experience and 5+ years PQE in global privacy.
• Strong knowledge of EU/UK GDPR and familiarity with US, Middle East, and Asia privacy laws.
• Experience drafting and negotiating DPAs and privacy terms in a global business context.
• Proven ability to manage data breaches, regulatory notifications, and privacy audits.
• Excellent communication to simplify complex legal concepts for non-legal audiences.
• Understanding AI technologies and related legal frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Apply an AI-First approach to privacy assessments and contracts.
• Advise on global privacy regulations and DPIAs with structured recommendations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate DPAs and privacy terms for global sales.
• Maintain privacy templates, policies, and training materials.
• Support audits and coordinate with external advisors and stakeholders.
