Job summary

Transamerica in Baltimore is seeking a seasoned Privacy Counsel to lead complex global privacy, cybersecurity and AI governance matters. This role requires translating technical and legal requirements into clear guidance for stakeholders across the business.

The ideal candidate will drive privacy initiatives, shape governance frameworks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable responsible innovation at scale.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in the U.S.
• 5 years of global privacy legal experience, preferably in financial services.
• 2 years of AI governance experience and implementation.
• Experience with GDPR, GLB, HIPAA and other major frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Independently handle complex privacy, cybersecurity and AI legal matters with minimal supervision.
• Advise stakeholders on privacy and AI governance regulatory requirements and risk.
• Partner on global AI governance initiatives and review AI use cases for compliance.
• Support privacy operations across the global enterprise (PIAs, DPIAs, DSARs, RoPAs).
• Draft and negotiate privacy-related agreements and data transfers.
• Design scalable privacy and AI compliance frameworks for growth.
• Identify training needs and deliver regulatory training.
• Drive cross-functional projects, coordinate outside counsel, and respond to inquiries.
