Job summary

Toole Design is seeking a Practice Lead in Silver Spring, MD to head our integrated transportation engineering and multimodal planning practice. You will guide project delivery, business development, and technical direction, reporting to the Engineering Director while collaborating with Design and Planning Directors.

You will lead a talented team of engineers and planners, develop growth strategies, recruit talent, and ensure high‑quality, equity‑driven transportation solutions for communities.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of transportation engineering and multimodal planning project experience.
• Experience leading integrated teams across engineering and planning.
• Proven ability to grow a transportation practice and manage client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead the integrated transportation engineering and multimodal planning practice.
• Mentor a team of engineers and planners and guide business development.
• Shape the firm's technical direction and manage major projects and client relationships.
• Recruit and advise on hiring to support growth and capabilities.
• Advance training, innovation, and quality control to stay at the forefront of the industry.
