Job summary

Toole Design in Seattle, WA seeks a Practice Lead to oversee integrated transportation engineering and multimodal planning. You will mentor engineers and planners, shape the firm's technical direction, and stay engaged on major projects that strengthen client relationships.

The role combines leadership with project delivery, requiring 15+ years in transportation engineering and planning, strong business development skills, and a commitment to safety, equity, and sustainable design.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of success on transportation engineering and multimodal planning projects.
• Experience in leading integrated teams, delivering complex projects, and growing a transportation practice.
• PE is preferred; PTOE and/or AICP credentials are a plus.
• Proven ability to lead business development and strategic planning.
• Commitment to creating safer, more equitable transportation systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead business development and practice planning in support of annual growth targets.
• Mentor engineers and planners, guide technical direction, and stay active on major projects.
• Collaborate with local, regional, and corporate leadership to advance practice priorities.
• Advance training, innovation, and quality control to keep our technical work at the forefront.
• Support hiring and raise the practice’s national visibility.
