Job summary

Evonik is seeking a Plant Engineer in Illinois to provide day-to-day technical support to plant operations, troubleshoot equipment and processes, and help improve safety, reliability and efficiency of production. You will partner with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering to drive improvements and capital projects.

The role requires a B.S./M.S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering and 3+ years of engineering experience, with familiarity of SAP, Emerson Delta-V and ASPEN IP21 considered a plus.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• 3+ years of engineering experience (preferred in chemical/oil & gas manufacturing).
• Experience with OSHA CFR 1910.119 PSM and EPA RMP regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical support to plant operations and troubleshoot equipment/process issues.
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering to execute improvements and capital projects.
• Support process safety initiatives and maintain technical documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, plant availability and overall efficiency.
• Participate in audits and drive improvement activities (5S, KPIs, root cause analysis).
• Ensure regulatory compliance of installations and maintenance practices.
