Job summary

Evonik invites engineers to join a role focused on EH&S compliance, safety and continuous improvement at a chemical site in Etowah, TN. You will support plant availability, cost reductions, and risk mitigation while coordinating with operations and maintenance to ensure project success.

The position requires a BS in an engineering field with experience in process control, instrumentation, and Lean practices.

Qualifications

BS in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with 5+ years in chemical industry preferred
Experience with EH&S compliance and environmental permits
Knowledge of plant processing, equipment, and instrumentation controls
Familiarity with Lean concepts (5S, Kaizens, TPM) and continuous improvement practices
Proficient in Excel, Word, and SAP is a plus

Responsibilities

Ensure EH&S policies and procedures are followed and documented
Provide technical assistance to the site to increase plant availability and reduce costs
Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks or remove obstacles
Coordinate with operations and maintenance for asset projects and spares commonality
Create Work Orders for non-emergency equipment needs
Support audits and improvement tools (EPS like 5S, KPIs, Root Cause analysis)
Investigate new technologies to enhance or replace existing systems
