Job summary

Evonik Corporation seeks a result-oriented engineer to strengthen EH&S compliance and optimize site processes at the Etowah facility. You will drive technical support to improve plant availability, reduce costs, and guide continuous improvement initiatives across operations and maintenance teams.

The role requires a BS in Chemical Engineering and 5+ years in the chemical industry, with experience in DCS/PLC, Lean practices, and SAP.

Qualifications

BS in Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering is required.
5+ years of relevant experience in the chemical industry preferred.
Experience with environmental, health and safety compliance.
Knowledge of plant processing and equipment; familiarity with multiple engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

Ensure EH&S policies and procedures are followed and documented.
Provide technical assistance to the site to improve plant availability and reduce costs.
Monitor, track and report critical success factors to meet goals.
Coordinate with operations and maintenance for project success and spares alignment.
Interface with internal/external resources to meet goals and report tasks.
Understand existing processes and workflows; explore improvements or new tech.
Create Work Orders for non-emergency equipment needs to improve safety and reliability.
Support audits and participate in continuous improvement tools (EPS, 5S, KPIs, RCA).
Other duties as assigned.
