Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a high-energy Piping Engineer to join our Building Mechanical team. You will design piping systems for state-of-the-art industrial facilities, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, and support project delivery from Jacobs offices and remote locations.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 8+ years of piping design experience, strong communication, and the ability to mentor staff. We offer a hybrid work policy, health benefits, a 401(k), stock, and generous PTO.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years’ piping design experience for industrial and commercial facilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform field/site visits which may include climbing ladders.
• Travel willingness (estimated travel time ~10%).
• Ability to lead and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Adaptability to fast-paced projects with deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of piping procedures and applicable codes for design projects.
• Perform piping systems concept development.
• Generate piping design calculations including equipment and pipe sizing.
• Create P&ID’s and Block Flow Diagrams.
• Perform equipment selections and develop system specifications.
• Coordinate with project team members, contractors and other disciplines.
• Perform static pipe stress analysis and QA reviews of drawings.
• Mentor junior staff and lead a piping discipline team.
• Support work for/in other offices and travel as needed.
