Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Piping Engineer for our Building Mechanical team to design state-of-the-art industrial facilities. You’ll work under a senior PM, coordinate piping disciplines, and help drive design quality while supporting travel and collaboration with global teams.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years’ experience in piping design for industrial and commercial facilities.
• Strong written and verbal skill set.
• Ability to travel (10%).
• Professional Engineering License (PE).
• Adaptability to work within a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
• Ability to lead a building mechanical team on a project and collaborate with other disciplines remotely.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of procedures and technical concepts within the piping discipline and the ability to apply relevant codes to piping design projects.
• Perform piping systems concept development.
• Generate piping design calculations including equipment sizing and pipe sizing calculations.
• Create P&ID’s and Block Flow Diagrams.
• Perform equipment selections.
• Generate specifications for systems and equipment.
• Coordinate with project team members, contractors, clients and other disciplines to develop designs.
• Perform static pipe stress analysis.
• Check drawings developed by project team members.
• Lead a design team within the piping discipline and manage scope, schedule and budget.
• Support work for/in other offices and other countries which may include travel.
• Organize work and delegate tasks.
• Collaborate with local and remote team members.
• Mentor junior staff.
