Job summary

Artsy is seeking a People Operations & Payroll Manager to build depth across HR operations, not just payroll. Based in NYC with 3 days in the office, you will own US, UK, and Germany payroll end-to-end, support immigration matters, leaves, and HRIS integrity, while expanding into broader People Operations responsibilities.

You’ll join a collaborative team supporting Artsy and Artnet across the US, UK, and Germany, with equity, health benefits, and a strong growth path.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of hands-on payroll processing experience.
• Experience using AI to automate repeatable tasks and identify when human review is needed.
• Clear written and verbal communication, especially explaining payroll/HR questions to non-experts.
• Professional discretion handling confidential employee information.

Responsibilities

• Run payroll for US, UK, and Germany, including auditing and reconciling cycles.
• Act as main contact for payroll vendors and employee payroll questions.
• Process payroll steps for terminations, including final pay, severance, and holiday pay.
• Own global benefits enrollment and invoice audits, ensuring accurate payroll deductions.
• Administer leaves of absence from start to finish and coordinate return-to-work.
• Manage work authorisation and immigration cases with outside counsel.
• Support compliance work and policy updates for new locations.
• Maintain HRIS workflows and integrations (BambooHR, ADP, Lattice).
• Handle core HR administration, including employment verifications and audit support.
