Job summary

Alkegen is seeking a Payroll Specialist - Contractor to manage accurate, timely multi-state payroll processing, tax compliance, reporting, and complex tax issue resolution for a large, multi-state organization.

You will serve as the subject matter expert on payroll tax regulations, agency notices, audits, reconciliations, and payroll reporting while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in payroll administration.
• 3+ years in payroll tax compliance & case management.
• Experience resolving federal, state, local notices & audits.
• Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations and wage laws.
• Advanced Excel (pivot, vlookup, XLOOKUP) required.
• Experience with large payroll systems (Workday/Dayforce/ADP/UKG).
