Job summary

The Guitar Center Company is seeking a Payroll Accountant to manage employee self-service payroll queries and accurate processing in a hybrid setup, with on-site Tuesday through Thursday and remote Monday and Friday.

Responsibilities include auditing hires, entering direct deposits and W-4s, tax form compliance, and producing payroll reports. You will coordinate with HR, Benefits, Finance and Legal to ensure timely payments and data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (or 4 years of equivalent work experience) required.
• 2 years of payroll experience preferred.
• Novice proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Intermediate ability with payroll system/tools such as ADP Enterprise.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees and managers regarding self-service and payroll questions.
• Audit new hire and status changes.
• Enter or audit direct deposit and W-4s.
• Ensure state and local tax forms are received and entered where required.
• Calculate and prepare off-cycle payments, including relocation payments.
• Analyze pre-processing and post-processing payroll reports for accuracy.
• Coordinate with vendors for unemployment and garnishment services.
• Prepare documentation for electronic storage.
• Full responsibility for processing of a specific pay group, including start of cycle, batches, and reports.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, A/P and Legal to maintain payroll efficiency.
