Job summary

Weber Gallagher Simpson Stapleton Fires and Newby seeks an experienced general litigation defense Paralegal for a hybrid role from King of Prussia, Mt. Laurel or Philadelphia.

You will support a team of attorneys from inception through trial, handling document review, discovery, trial prep, and docket management. Required: 5+ years defense litigation support, ABA-approved paralegal credential, strong attention to detail, and excellent time management.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience, preferably in defense litigation support.
• Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved organization.
• Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to meet all deadlines and prioritize workload.
• Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams of attorneys, legal staff, court staff, clients, expert witnesses, etc.
• Demonstrated interest in defense litigation.
• Ability to perform legal research, experience with Lexis a plus.
• Familiarity with reviewing and obtaining medical records. And experience providing concise and thorough chronologies.
• Experience with time entry billing in a law firm setting, required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, required.

Responsibilities

• Manage client cases from inception through trial and closing.
• Daily time entry billing requirements.
• Obtain, review, analyze and summarize documents, including medical records, financial documents and other relevant case information.
• Trial preparation – such as trial binders, exhibits and preparing witness files.
• Manage court docket calendar.
• Create status reports and provide updates to appropriate parties.
• Willingness to work on cases from start to finish and meet all court deadlines.
• Additional duties as assigned.
