Job summary

Weber Gallagher Simpson Stapleton Fires & Newby LLP is seeking an experienced paralegal to support a general liability defence team. The role is remote from any office with a preference for candidates in PA, NJ, DE, NY, FL or Chicago.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in defence litigation support, a BA degree and/or ABA‑approved paralegal certificate, and strong time management, detail, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of defence litigation support experience.
• Bachelor’s degree and/or ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate.
• Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.
• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to communicate with cross-functional teams of attorneys, staff, clients, etc.
• Experience with legal research; Lexis a plus.
• Familiarity with reviewing medical records and creating chronologies.
• Experience with time entry billing in a law firm.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Paralegal– General Liability – Remote from any office

Weber Gallagher has an immediate opening for an experienced general litigation defence Paralegal. The individual in this role will have the flexibility of working remotely from any of the following locations, with a preference for those residing in PA or NJ: Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, New York, Florida, or Chicago. The individual will be responsible for supporting a team of attorneys with litigation tasks from inception through trial and close.

Responsibilities:

• Manage client cases from inception through trial and closing.
• Daily time entry billing requirements.
• Obtain, review, analyse and summarise documents, including medical records, financial documents and other relevant case information.
• Trial preparation – such as trial binders, exhibits and preparing witness files.
• Create status reports and provide updates to appropriate parties.
• Willingness to work on cases from start to finish and meet all court deadlines.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience, preferably in defence litigation support.
• Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved organisation.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisation skills.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to meet all deadlines and prioritise workload.
• Ability to communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams of attorneys, legal staff, court staff, clients, expert witnesses, etc.
• Demonstrated interest in defence litigation.
• Ability to perform legal research, experience with Lexis a plus.
• Familiarity with reviewing and obtaining medical records. And experience providing concise and thorough chronologies.
• Experience with time entry billing in a law firm setting, required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, required.
