Job summary

Mattel HQ, Inc. in El Segundo, California is seeking a Packaging Designer for Games to shape the visual identity of Mattel Games brands from concept through production, creating packaging, product graphics, and supporting assets that connect with consumers and tell a compelling brand story.

You will collaborate with Marketing, Product Design, Engineering, Copywriting, and Brand teams, build 3D package visuals, direct photography, and ensure design quality from concept to shelf.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in packaging, graphic, or consumer product design.
• Degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Visual Communication, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Exceptional visual design skills with a strong portfolio demonstrating packaging and brand storytelling.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Experience with 3D visualization tools such as Adobe Dimension, Blender, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Design innovative packaging from concept through production for Mattel Games brands and licensed properties.
• Develop compelling visual storytelling that strengthens brand identity and drives consumer engagement.
• Create packaging and product graphics, digital assets for both retail and e-commerce experiences.
• Partner with Marketing, Product Design, Engineering, Copywriting, and Brand teams to bring cohesive creative solutions to life.
• Art direct illustration, retouching, and external creative partners.
• Create 3D package visualizations and physical mockups to communicate design intent.
• Collaborate closely with global development teams to ensure design quality from concept through production.
• Stay connected to consumer, design, entertainment, culture, and retail trends to inspire fresh creative solutions.
