Job summary

University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center seeks an Intake Nurse Navigator to guide patients through the care journey, coordinate visits, and educate families. The role emphasizes removing barriers to access and collaborating with the care team across specialties.

Qualifications

• RN license in Texas (or eligible) and BLS/CPR required.
• Five years of professional oncology nursing or oncology nurse navigation experience, or seven years with an Associate's degree.
• OCN and additional certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care coordination and communication with patients and families from first contact to first appointment.
• Assess barriers to care and assist with scheduling, referrals, and resources.
• Provide education on oncology diagnosis, treatment, and support services.
• Educate patients and caregivers on appointment prep and care plans.
• Document recommendations using standardized care protocols and Epic tools.
• Engage in performance improvement and mandatory training activities.
