Job summary

The US Oncology Network in Richardson, TX seeks a Coding Specialist to support our Central Business Office. This full-time hybrid remote role works Monday–Friday at 3001 E President George Bush Hwy, Richardson, TX 75082, and requires residence in Texas.

The Coding Specialist will perform medical record coding, assign ICD-9 and CPT-4 codes, and ensure compliance with coding guidelines. A minimum of one year coding experience is required; RHIT certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of coding medical experience; oncology experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT-4 Coding Systems highly desirable.
• Certification in coding is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Abstract relevant clinical and demographic information to assign ICD-9 and CPT-4 codes.
• Identify principal and secondary diagnoses with minimal error based on standards.
• Record diagnostic procedures and assign appropriate procedure codes.
• Maintain confidentiality of medical information in each record.
