Job summary

The US Oncology Network is seeking a Coding Specialist to join Texas Oncology in Richardson, TX. This full-time, hybrid-remote role supports the Central Business Office and requires coding accuracy with ICD-9 and CPT-4 codes.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of coding experience, preferably more, and may hold related certifications. RHIT or similar credentials are valued in senior levels.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of medical coding experience; three years preferred.
• Certification is preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding systems highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Abstracts relevant clinical and demographic information from the medical record to assign ICD-9 and CPT-4 codes.
• Identifies principal and secondary diagnosis with minimal error based on national standards.
• Records all diagnostic procedures and assigns appropriate procedure codes.
• Requests diagnosis from physicians when information is not recorded.
• Maintains confidentiality of medical information.
