Job summary

NY Preschool in New York City is seeking a Recruiter & Onboarding Specialist to manage full-cycle recruiting and coordinate onboarding and new hire training across our NYC schools. The role requires regular in-person presence for interviews, onboarding, and training.

You will partner with Heads of School and the Director of HR to deliver a smooth, high-quality onboarding experience and support the organization’s growth while maintaining exceptional employee experience.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years recruiting or HR coordination experience.
• Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
• Experience coordinating interviews, onboarding, or training logistics.
• Experience leading group trainings and orientations.
• Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, in-person environment.
• Willingness to travel between NYC locations regularly (4 days/week in person).
• Experience in education, childcare, or service-based industries is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage job postings, candidate screening, and interview scheduling.
• Coordinate communication between candidates and hiring managers.
• Support sourcing efforts for teachers, school staff, and enrichment roles.
• Maintain organized candidate pipelines and tracking systems.
• Track recruiting activity and generate hiring progress reports.
• Coordinate onboarding from offer acceptance through first day.
• Plan onboarding materials, schedules, and documentation.
• Coordinate new hire training sessions and required compliance trainings.
• Provide in-person support for interviews and onboarding across NY Preschool locations.
