Job summary

Sierra in New York is seeking an IT Support Specialist to own day-to-day IT for our office, focusing on macOS troubleshooting, hardware, and network reliability. You’ll be the go-to person when things break and will ensure a smooth, productive environment for our teams.

You'll triage requests in a global helpdesk queue, assist engineers, and use AI tools to accelerate RCA and documentation while protecting sensitive data. This role blends hands-on work with process improvement.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of hands-on IT support or systems administration.
• Strong macOS experience in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Experience supporting engineers or technical users.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first line of defense for employee IT issues in New York, with macOS focus.
• Manage the global IT helpdesk queue during regional hours and handoffs.
• Support engineers with logs, command-line tools and clear communication.
• Use AI tools to accelerate research and documentation while protecting data.
• Own device lifecycle: procurement, deployment, inventory, re-provisioning.
• Keep conference rooms AV ready and manage room hardware inventory.
• Support office build-out and moves including IT/AV setup.
• Coordinate network issues with ISPs/vendors and escalate as needed.
• Onboard new hires with laptops and software provisioning.
• Administer SaaS apps (Okta, Google Workspace) and access controls.
