Job summary

Steiner Electric is seeking a Network Operations Manager at our Elk Grove Village, IL location with a hybrid work environment. You will oversee network performance, security, and reliability, lead SOC-related responses, and drive data-center strategy, while collaborating with IT and third-party teams.

Requirements include 5–7 years’ experience in network infrastructure, firewalls, data centers, and VOIP, plus strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years managing network infrastructure with firewalls, routers, switches, data centers, and VOIP.
• Experience with failover, backup, and disaster recovery plans.
• Experience selecting cyber threat prevention solutions.
• Experience managing on-premise and cloud data centers, WAN/LAN.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily performance, availability, security, and reliability of network infrastructure.
• Own the business continuity and cyber threat plan; test the plan.
• Recommend infrastructure changes to support growth.
• Manage day-to-day network issues with IT and third-party teams.
• Support cyber threat responses including SOC alerts.
• Manage WAN/LAN; troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
• Procure and renew hardware, software, and support services.
• Develop a 3-year infrastructure strategy for data centers.
• Communicate project status using project management software.
• Translate technical information into user-friendly language.
