Job summary

Carrington Mortgage Services is seeking a Loss Mitigation Specialist to educate borrowers on options such as loan modifications, repayment plans, forbearances, and reinstatements. The role requires mortgage servicing experience, NMLS licensing, and knowledge of government programs.

The position offers a hybrid schedule with an approved pay of $23.00/hour plus a monthly bonus and a bilingual premium. Responsibilities include handling inbound calls, pursuing outbound outreach, evaluating hardship

Qualifications

1+ year experience in collections, loss mitigation or call center within a mortgage servicing environment.
Full State NMLS licensing required within 6 months of entering this job.
Knowledge of mortgage industry terminology.
Knowledge of Government program requirements and timelines (FHA, VA, USDA, FNMA, FHLMC).
Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

Handle inbound calls via IVR and internal transfers to determine borrowers’ intent to retain property and discuss foreclosure alternatives.
Follow up on signed trial agreements, repayment plans and final modification documents.
Communicate approval or denial of loss mitigation options and answer related questions.
Review hardship documentation to determine best workout option based on financial status.
Engage borrowers in denial cases for loss mitigation liquidation options when appropriate.
Provide information about Title issues that may affect modification finalization.
