Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a qualified engineer to contribute to nuclear power plant systems design, including preparation and review of modification packages, technical specifications, and vendor evaluations. The role requires collaboration with client teams and the potential to lead engineering projects in a hybrid work setting with in-office days.

A strong background in ABET‑accredited engineering programs and industry codes is essential.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear, Systems Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of experience in the power industry.
• Working knowledge of codes and regulations for mechanical design of nuclear power plants.
• PE license is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare or review modification packages for operating nuclear power plants.
• Create functional mechanical drawings/ drawings for nuclear plant systems.
• Perform engineering analyses and evaluations to support modifications and operation of plant systems.
• Develop technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
• Study modification options for operating nuclear plants.
• Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client work scopes.
• Interface with client at office and/or plant locations and present status.
• Lead engineering project teams.
