Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in the AEC industry.
• Hybrid schedule to Chicago or Detroit office is required.
• Written and verbal communication skills commensurate with the position.
• Proficient with typical office software (word processing, spreadsheets, email).
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, flexible and curious.
• Ability to work well with others under deadline situations.

Responsibilities

• Produce the mechanical sheet list and set up the project in Revit.
• Participate in the BIM Project Execution Plan.
• Assist in mechanical submittal reviews and develop mechanical RFI responses with supervision.
• Collaborate with project engineers on mechanical components across disciplines.
• Model HVAC, plumbing and/or fire protection in Revit per code and client requirements.
• Produce redline markups to delegate tasks to team members.
• Engage in coordination meetings and lead follow-up efforts.
• Edit specifications alongside project engineers.
• Assist in staffing and estimate hours for mechanical tasks.
• Support QAQC per HED’s design process.
