Job summary

Harley Ellis Devereaux (HED) seeks a Mechanical Designer to join our Mechanical Engineering team. The role builds on foundational experience to develop design documentation, perform calculations, and coordinate across disciplines within built-environment projects.

Working primarily in Revit, you will model HVAC, plumbing and fire protection components, review submittals, and contribute to project execution with guidance from project engineers. Hybrid work with Chicago or Detroit offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 2+ years of experience in the AEC industry preferred.
• Hybrid schedule with Chicago or Detroit office required.

Responsibilities

• Produce the mechanical sheet list for projects and complete project setup in Revit.
• Participate in BIM Project Execution Plan development.
• Assist in mechanical submittal reviews and respond to mechanical RFIs under supervision.
• Collaborate with project engineers on mechanical system components and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Model HVAC, plumbing and fire protection in Revit based on code and client requirements.
• Create redline markups to delegate tasks to team members.
• Contribute to QA/QC and attend client/project team meetings to review mechanical requirements.
