Job summary

Harley Ellis Devereaux (HED) in Sacramento seeks a Mechanical Designer to join our collaborative engineering team. The role focuses on developing design documentation, performing calculations, and coordinating across disciplines with increasing autonomy under project engineers.

You will primarily work in Revit to model HVAC, plumbing and fire protection layouts, review specifications, and assist with submittals and RFIs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
2+ years of experience in the AEC industry preferred.
Written and verbal communication skills required.
Revit experience required.
Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and email required.
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic and curious.

Responsibilities

Produce the mechanical sheet list and set up projects in Revit.
Assist in BIM Project Execution Plan tasks.
Support mechanical submittal reviews and respond to RFIs with supervision from lead engineer.
Collaborate with project engineers and coordinate with other disciplines.
Model HVAC, plumbing and/or fire protection components in Revit.
Create redline markups to delegate tasks across the team.
Engage in QAQC per HED's design process.
Attend project meetings to review mechanical requirements.
Assist in staffing estimates and hours for mechanical tasks.
